Duxford History Walk

History Walk

Duxford is a village in South Cambridgeshire with a long and rich history. Recorded as Dukesworthe in the Doomsday Book, it has for most of its history been a peaceful rural area.

The village contained five ancient manors, two parish churches plus a non-conformist chapel, four mills, two schools, businesses largely connected to agriculture, several shops and nine pubs.

Based upon a hugely popular walk with the Duxford History Society, this guide aims to take you on a tour of the village, pointing out some of the interesting buildings and the local history as you go, along with the location of all those pubs!

This suggested walk is just under 2 miles in length, taking an hour to an hour and a half at a gentle pace and passes several pubs and cafes for refreshments on the way.
